Description: Strawberry variety Christine is the newest English selection developed by the renowned British breeder Derek Jennings (not to be confused with the later Italian variety Cristina!). Strawberry Christine is an excellent ultra-early variety abundant in beautiful dense berries of a classic pointed shape and unusual red-orange color. The plant is neat, powerful, tall, with a moderate number of runners. The leaves are large, wrinkled. Flower stalks are long, strong, slightly drooping. Berries are large (60-80g), conical, orange-red with a gloss. Seeds are small. The taste is excellent: sweet with a pleasant gentle tartness. Christine does not lose its taste even in the absence of sunlight during rainy days. The berries maintain a commercial appearance for a long time, making them ideal for processing. The variety is very promising, winter-hardy, resistant to powdery mildew and verticillium wilt, and possesses excellent commercial and taste qualities, suitable for long-term storage. It can be grown both in open and protected soil.
