Description: Two strawberry cultivars were developed at the Lithuanian Institute of Horticulture by varietal hybridization: ‘Saulene’ (‘Shuksan’ × ‘Senga Sengana’) and ‘Dange’ (‘Venta’ × ‘Redgauntlet’). Harvesting of the early cultivar ‘Saulene’ starts 5–6 days earlier than that of the standard variety ‘Venta’. ‘Saulene’ is characterized by concentrated and high yield, along with excellent fruit taste. The high-quality berries of this variety are well-suited for fresh consumption.
