Western thuja ‘Filiformis’ (Thuja occidentalis ‘Filiformis’) is an ornamental, slow-growing conifer with a unique crown shape resembling a haystack, created by long, thin, thread-like, drooping shoots that can reach up to 1 metre in length. The foliage is bright green, turning bronze in winter. It is winter-hardy, prefers sunny locations and moist, fertile soils, and is ideal for Japanese gardens, rock gardens, and specimen plantings, reaching a mature height of 1.5–3 m.
