Vaccinium corymbosum Hannah's Choice

Size: P-9

Plant age: 1 y.

Blueberry Hannah’s Choice (Hannah’s Choice) is an early-ripening, tall-growing, self-fertile variety valued for its large, very sweet, firm dark blue berries with a strong waxy bloom. The berries store and transport exceptionally well. The variety is extremely winter-hardy (down to –37 °C) and disease-resistant. The bushes are upright, reaching up to 2 m in height, with attractive pink spring flowers, making it suitable for a wide range of regions, including northern areas.

Main characteristics:
Ripening time: early, mid-July, shortly after varieties such as Duke.
Bush: tall (up to 2 m), upright, vigorous.
Flowering: produces attractive pink bell-shaped flowers in spring.

Berries:
Size: large (15–20 mm), slightly flattened, heavy (2.5–3 g).
Colour: dark blue with a pronounced waxy bloom.
Taste: very sweet, almost no acidity, with a delicate aroma, fleshy.
Texture: firm and fleshy, with a dry picking scar.

Yield:
High (4–10 kg per bush), consistent annual production, berries do not drop.

Hardiness and resistance:
Excellent winter hardiness (down to –37 °C), disease-resistant, tolerates frost well.

Use:
Ideal for fresh consumption, freezing, and processing due to excellent keeping quality.

Special features:
Self-fertile, but planting pollinators (e.g. Duke) can increase yields.

Benefits for the gardener:
Early harvest without waiting until late summer.
Large, delicious berries that do not drop.
Very high winter hardiness, suitable for northern gardens.
Attractive ornamental bush with pink flowers.
Easy to grow and maintain.
