A compact, elegant grass, one of the lowest-growing varieties, reaching 90–140 cm in height. It forms a rounded clump with narrow silvery-gray leaves that turn yellow or develop a copper-red hue in autumn. It flowers from August to October with pinkish panicles that later become creamy white.
