GLADIOLUS (GLADIOLUS L.)
Perennial bulb flowers perfect for brightening any flower garden. Enjoy vibrant inflorescences by picking them when 2 flowers unfold and 3-4 flower buds show color. These flowers thrive in open, sunny locations shielded from winds and prefer medium-light or loamy soil. Regular watering during drought is essential—approximately 3-4 buckets of water per 1 sq. m. Implement a crop rotation every 4-5 years for optimal growth.
Before planting, soak bulbs in a 0.2% solution of potassium permanganate or fungicide for 30 minutes. Note, GLADIOLUS are not able to overwinter in the ground and should be dug up in the second half of September. Store dried tubers at 4-6 ˚C during winter for preservation.
