Vitis vinifera Aloszenkin

Size: C2

Plant age: 3 y.

Grape ‘Aleshenkin’ is a very early, vigorous table grape variety with large conical clusters and amber-coloured, sweet, crunchy berries, often seedless. It has a harmonious flavour and high yield. The variety is valued for its winter hardiness and good transportability, but it requires protection against fungal diseases, especially downy mildew.

Main characteristics:

Ripening period: very early (100–118 days).
Clusters: large, conical, branched, weighing 400–800 g (can reach 2 kg or more).
Berries: medium to large (4–6 g), slightly oval, amber-yellow, with thin skin, crunchy flesh, sweet, with high sugar content (up to 20%).
Taste: harmonious and pleasant, tasting score 8.8 points.
Seedlessness: seedless berries often occur (up to 30%).
Vigour: strongly growing vine.
Flower: bisexual, self-pollinating.

Advantages:

High and stable yield even in unfavourable years.
Good winter hardiness (down to –21 °C).
Excellent transportability and keeping quality.

Care requirements:

Requires crop regulation (pruning) to prevent overloading.
Medium or long pruning is recommended.
Sensitive to downy mildew, needs preventive treatments.
Prefers sunny, wind-protected sites and responds well to fertilisation.

Use:

Primarily for fresh consumption.
