Description: A deciduous shrub reaching 2–3.5 m in height. The branches are reddish-brown and pubescent. The leaves are large, lance-shaped, up to 35 cm long, dark green, rough on the upper surface and densely covered with white felt beneath. The flowers are light purple, arranged in large corymb-like inflorescences. Requires winter protection.
