The variety belongs to the herbaceous peonies from the Herbaceous Lactiflora group. The originator of the variety is Roy G. Klehm, USA, 1991. The flower color of 'Class Act' is initially soft cream, later fading to almost white, with only a faint pinkish-cream shade remaining in the center.
