Leaf characteristics: Fleshy, thick leaves with a spinach taste, but smaller than spinach. They do not overgrow quickly and accumulate plenty of vitamin C and carotene.
Usage: Young leaves and stalks are used for food. They regrow after cutting.
Best growing conditions: New Zealand spinach grows best in the summer, when the weather is warm. It prefers medium-heavy and fertile, humus-rich soil.
