**GLADIOLUS L.**
Perennial bulb flowers, grown primarily in flower gardens, are known for their striking inflorescences. To ensure the best display, inflorescences should be picked when **2 flowers unfold** and **3-4 flower buds** show color.
Thrives in open, sunny locations that are protected from winds, ideally in medium-light or loamy soil. During drought conditions, it is essential to water with **3-4 buckets of water per 1 sq. m**. Implementing a **crop rotation of 4-5 years** is recommended to maintain health and vigor.
Prior to planting, bulbs should be treated in a solution of potassium permanganate or fungicide (0.2%) for **half an hour** to prevent disease. **Note: Not able to overwinter in the ground**, bulbs should be dug up in the **second half of September** and stored in a cool, dry place at **4-6 ˚C** throughout winter.
